Did you know? Pilates was originally developed during World War I as a rehabilitation method for injured soldiers. Joseph Pilates used innovative techniques, including resistance from hospital bed springs, to help them regain strength and mobility.


After the war, Joseph Pilates took his method to New York, where it caught the attention of the dance community, especially ballerinas. The controlled, precise movements and focus on core strength became a perfect complement to dance training, helping dancers improve their performance and recover from injuries.


Who knew that Pilates would still be going so strong over 100 years later?
